A chance to celebrate all that is good about our community and to meet up to have fun and enjoy meeting each other.
Pick up a trail challenge at any of the venues and make your way to all venues throughout the afternoon to collect the clues and complete the trail. Just ask for the trail challenge at any of the venues.
TABLE TOP SALES
Uncover hidden treasure by creating a tabletop sale outside your home for those to make purchases as they move around the community.
We would love you to place any art in your windows so that as people walk around the community they can see wonderful artwork.
This is for everyone, and we hope to see you out enjoying and celebrating our community.
As well as finding out more about what your local library offers, there is also an opportunity to get your bike postcode marked as our community police will be there making that happen. There will also be the GREAT BIG BOOK GIVE AWAY happening throughout the day and so come along for your chance to take away for free a great read.
BROADMEAD AVENUE SHOPS
The Karmana restaurant will be hosting music acts inside from 2pm until 4.30pm. A number of our local shops will be open as well as provide opportunities for you to buy food throughout the afternoon. Mario’s Ice Cream will be moving around the various venues during the afternoon and will be situated at St. Albans during the concert.
HEADLANDS URC CHURCH
Shop Zero are open from 10am until mid-afternoon. There will be light refreshments – tea coffee cake biscuits etc. They would also like to use the time to engage people from within the community in discussion about what they may like to see the site being used for and how the church can be relevant to them as local community residents.
Community Dog Walk @ 2.00 pm led by Nathan Watson, qualified canine behaviour consultant. Plus much more – find them on the park between Tarn Croft and the MUGA. Bring your Canine friend along for the biggest ever dog walk in the history of Eastfield Park. Find out about Friends of Eastfield Park and the welfare charity ‘Animals in Need.’
Trilogy Leisure will be sending a coach and a volunteer to deliver a 1-hour multi-sports session at the park from 2-3pm. Either on the MUGA or near where other activities are at the park
BROADMEAD COMMUNITY CHURCH
Whatever the weather on the day we will have something for everyone. Blow off some steam on our inflatable obstacle course or play human table football or put on a sumo suit and go against a family member. If you would rather take a more relaxed approach then our café will be open for afternoon tea and if you are feeling competitive why not enter our Community Festival Bake Off Challenge. The instructions can be downloaded here. All activities will be free but we would of course welcome donations towards the cost of each activity.
ST. ALBANS CHURCH
Come along for refreshments and a chance to sit and chat either in the church or on the lawns. There will be hot food available to purchase in the car park from Betty’s Caribbean Fusion (click here to find out more) and tea/coffee and cake free or donation in the church. Come and meet some of the groups that meet in the halls and see what you would like to join!
SAMUEL’S CHRISTIAN NURSERY
Samuels nursery will be open during the afternoon and have a variety of activities for you to enjoy.
We are delighted that a number of performers including Eastfield Primary School Choir, Headlands Primary School Choir, Eastfield Puppets, Abington Community Choir and Others will be performing out St. Albans church (inside if wet weather) at 4:30pm. Please do make your way to the concert for a 4:30pm. Food will be available to be purchased at the same time as well as throughout the afternoon in the St. Albans Car Park.
