We have firm foundations. We worship God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit and derive all we believe, teach and do from the Bible as the written word of God, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We are starting with thevalue of founded because we believe that our faith makes sense and we can have confidences in it. However, as a church it is unlikely that each of us will agree on everything in our understanding of the bible and as we work with other churches across the town it is unlikely that each church will agree on everything.  However, we are founded on the core beliefs of our faith as mentioned already and stand together with those people and churches with those same core beliefs while understanding that we may have differences in our reading of and understanding of scripture in other areas.

A sign of our maturing faith in God is that we can loving walk alongside those who don’t see everything just as we do without a desire to convince them we are right and they are wrong. We want to honour each other in the way we handle any differences. We encourage everyone to act with the affirmations and actions set out in the Evangelical Alliance’s Basis of Faith.

We believe there is evidence that backs up the bible, who Jesus was and that there are ways that we can understand the bible, it isn’t all just about knowledge, as much as we would like it to be sometimes.

At the end of the day it is a FAITH!!  At some point in time, we have got to say that we decide to believe.  We aren’t going to prove 100% without any doubt that there is a God.  Faith is a decision of the will that we keep on making.  It is a choice that we must make without having the complete information we’d like to have, otherwise what we would have would be knowledge and not faith.

There is evidence, we can prove things, that there is an explainable foundation for our faith but it is the wrong approach to prove faith through empirical knowledge.  We can use evidence to point towards God, but it leaves room for us to make a choice by taking a step of faith.
