We want to be purposeful, actively growing followers of Christ, who understand and use their gifts, talents, knowledge and passion to serve God in their day to day lives and spheres of influence.

Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life. Gal 6:4-5

Psalm 139 tells us that God’s workmanship is marvellous and wonderful. Scripture tells us that each of us is a special creation of God Almighty, made in His own image. One of our aims as a church is for every one of us to be using all that God has placed inside us, our gifts, talents, passions and ability so our lives can make a significant difference for His Kingdom. God doesn’t create anything without value and designed us to fulfil a unique role in His objective to establish His Kingdom on earth.

No-one is like you and no one can give into God’s Kingdom as you can. That’s why God wants us to discover our focus. God wants us to truly understand and accept who He has made us to be. There is such freedom in living as the person God created you to be.

We don’t need to focus on ourselves to discover who we are but to look to God and ask Him to help us discover your uniqueness. We focus on God to discover our focus for life. It’s our unique Kingdom Purpose. In other words, your specific contribution to the body of Christ, within your generation, that causes you to totally depend on God and authentically display His love towards others – all through the expression of your uniqueness.

Each one of us has a living stone assignment (1 Peter 2:5), our unique purpose, our focus and when we put all of those together around Jesus as our Cornerstone. Wow, what a church that would be and this is the greatest building project that God can do amongst us.

So let our focus be about the Father’s business as Jesus’ was. To do this, we need to do two things. Get involved in the things Jesus did and be about the things that are close to God’s heart, using our unique purpose for the Kingdom.
